There
is still a lot of talk about the David Ortiz/steroid issue, especially
after Ortiz’s public statement and the Boston organization’s firing of
their own little in-house steroid ring.

As expected, Ortiz’s
press conference was nothing more than a non-denial denial, which
should tell you all you need to know about what he did.

With that said, here are four things regarding this Ortiz issue that cannot be denied:
1) NOBODY knows better what he did and didn’t do than Ortiz himself.

2)
When he waits to check on what he tested for, it comes across like his
trying to find out what he HAS to admit to rather than just coming out
and being honest about it. If you did NOT do steroids, you don’t need
to check test results to know it.

Example: If somebody comes to me and says, “we have information you tested positive for cocaine,” I immediately call it a lie because I KNOW I have never ingested cocaine. I don’t tell them to give me a few days so I can research the test results.

3)
This idea tha,tOrtiz or any other pro jock,
is just throwing crap in their body without knowing what it is and what
it does is impossible to believe.

4) It is
amazing how fans — and this applies to New York every bit as much as
Boston or any other city — are quick to crucify the other guy and then
start inventing non-existent excuses when it’s a guy who wears their
uniform.
